The Advanced Joining and Processing Lab at WSU's National Institute for Aviation Research is hosting the National Science Foundation's Center for Friction Stir Processing Technical Conference and Industry Advisory Board Meeting this week. As a new CFSP member, this is the university's first time hosting the event.The conference will be attended by guests from several universities and organizations including the South Dakota School of Mines, Brigham Young University, the Missouri University of Science and Technology, Cessna, Bombardier, Embraer, Lockheed Martin, Boeing, Spirit and Hawker Beechcraft.
During the week, attendees will have the opportunity to tour NIAR's Advanced Joining and Processing Lab, Kansas Aviation Museum, Kansas Cosmosphere, Cessna Citation Assembly and Service Facility and NIAR's Aircraft Structural Testing and Evaluation Center at Hawker Beechcraft.
The group will wrap up the week Friday morning with a golf tournament at the Braeburn Golf Course.
