About the Program
Spend a week engaged in research-focused academic sessions and collaborating in a faculty’s research laboratory on 鶹ƽ State University’s main campus. Student research groups will compile a review of literature, formulate an educated hypothesis and methods, conduct data collection, analyze data, and showcase findings in an oral presentation. Collaborate, problem-solve, practice critical thinking skills and begin to establish relationships with fellow incoming peers, undergraduate student mentors, graduate research assistants, and research faculty. Students who complete the SRI program enhance team building and leaderships skills, strengthen research competences and preparedness for First Year Research Experience (FYRE) and other collaborative research opportunities throughout their academic program. This summer program is hosted by WSU’s Dorothy and Bill Cohen Honors College. SRI is a part of the LSAMP program.
Who is eligible? Incoming first-year 鶹ƽ State students who are graduated high school seniors or community college transfer students interested in STEM majors.
